3. I have so many memories of Academy-- all of them wonderful. Most of all I remember the fantastic girls and counselors I was able to associate with. I am still in awe of all your talents and enthusiasm-- I learned so much. It was a super-fun summer!
4. Right now? Well, I am chasing my two little girls around. Laura Lee is 4 and Samantha is 2. I am learning that I have SO MUCH that I still HAVE to learn!!! We live in Bountiful, Utah and my husband works for a law firm in Salt Lake. My girls keep me hoppin', but I also have just a few piano and voice students to add some variety to my schedule! It has been so long since I was a counselor, but I still remember my experiences there and I sure love reading about all of you!

Angela Havens Davidson

I was a counselor in 1997 & 1998

As I serve in Young Women's now, I am grateful that I learned to open up my scriptures to teach. I absolutely loved being an Academy Girl, and I still use silver and gold metallic markers! I can't drive past the Old Spaghetti Factory or Seven Peaks without recalling fun memories of our day trips.

In 2001 I married the greatest guy in the whole world, Michael Jeffrey Davidson. After we were married I immediately moved to Tulsa, OK where Mike was finishing law school. We then moved to Salt Lake, where Mike earned an advanced law degree in his specialty area. I have been following Mike around, working in Human Resources wherever we live. I recruited nurses for the U of U Hospital for 3 years, and then I recruited doctors until we left Utah. Mike and I had the privilege of being ordinance workers at the Salt Lake Temple for over a year and loved every minute of it! A few months ago my husband was recruited for his dream job, and we relocated to Las Vegas.

Today I am busy trying to be a great wife and Young Women's Leader. I like to swim every day, try new recipes and watch BYU football with my sweetheart.

Anyone is welcome to stay with us if you are passing through Las Vegas and need a place to stay. We have plenty of room!

2. Counselor: 1996 and 1997 B.C.: 1998 and 1999
3. My favorite memory is THE MAGIC. You all understand what I mean, and maybe it includes a little bit of everything. THE MAGIC started in the hearts of the counselors and moved from there to the eyes of the girls.
THE MAGIC was a part of every activity, every devotional, and every room.
4. After graduating from USU in Elementary Education and completing my fourth year at AFG I served a Russian Speaking mission in the Baltic's, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Upon my return I began Graduate School
in Instructional Technology which is when I met my dear husband Josh. We have been married for three years and have one darling son, Caleb. At the completion of my Masters Degree I taught Junior High, Reading and Math.
I now stay home with Caleb. My latest endeavor is the writing of a book on Transitioning into Motherhood. My little family lives in Logan Utah where we feel we have more blessings than we can count.

3. There are so many of my favorite memories, Marker fights and late nights with Skipper, The lazy river at Seven Peaks, making life long friends, the miracles that you saw happen, the sparkle in the eyes of your girls as you watch their testimony grow, My girls putting up a sign on the Cannon Center that told me to for Josh at Seven Peaks, eek!!, Never wanting to smell or eat at the Spaghetti Factory every again!, memorizing every line to Legacy and than reenacting it with Rocket, the cock roaches and smell of Shermin Texas, and of course our star shoes, scrunchies, star shirts and bells all worn lovingly at Lagoon (boy did we look beautiful!!). Most of all I remember how happy I was and how it changed my life for the better.
4. Now days I am busy being a mom. I have three great kids, Paige 5, Sadie 2 and Trey 8 months. They keep me busy and on my toes but I am so thankful for them. Jeremy and I live in little Dayton Idaho (near Preston, home of Napoleon Dynamite) and you will be glad to know that I don't wear a side ponytail nor do we wear moon boots as so many people in the world now assume! I help at the local high school by advising the student council, which I love. I go two days a week for one hour and my kids get to come with me, it's great! My kids think that they are part of the high school scene. In my spare time I love to sew and watch my kids play with their dad on our horses.

2. I went to AFG as a girl ages 13-16 and then worked as a counselor in 1997 and BC/Counselor in 1998.
3. The memories are endless. I got out my journal and have been laughing, a lot! I loved seeing the change of heart in the girls and seeing their testimonies grow. I still occasionally hear from some of them and each girl still holds a special place in my heart even though I was only with them for 1 week. I love the friendships I made at Academy and I’m grateful for the loving influence so many of the counselors and directors had on my life. Academy was a life changing experience for me and I often draw on the spiritual high I felt from that time in my life.
4. I have been married now almost 7 years. We live in Layton, Utah. I’m a busy Mom of two kids, Tanner(3) and Haley(6mo). They are the joy of my life. I’m mostly a stay at home Mom, but I also help my husband with our business. In my spare time I enjoy knitting scarves, playing the piano, baking, going camping, and playing games (Settlers of Catan) with family and friends. I have served as a Laurel Advisor for 3 years, and love to be with the Young Women.

Ernie, Academy 1995, 1996

I have so many memories, it is obviously hard to list everything! I loved marker fights at 7 peaks, driving the big vans, the fashion show, "I will survive" at the talent show, shoes with stars on them, making butter, teaching classes, and just generally being silly all the time. It was so fun to just be a kid again. I also loved how Academy strengthened my testimony and prepared me to be a wife and a mother.

These days I live in Lake Stevens, Washington with my husband Derek and my two boys Wesley and Asher. I love being a mom and have so much fun going to play group, story time at the library, and outings into Seattle. I also love reading and am in a great book club. I am very happy!

My email address is sorella_tate@hotmail.com. I love hearing from people!

3. Working with incrediblely talented ladies and learning as we served together daily. There are so many fond memories of academy for me that start way back when I was a participant. I would have to say that my fondest memory was when I was a girl attending that I gained a testimony that I was a daughter of God and that He really loved me! I became interested in being a counselor because I wanted to help create a smiliar experience for another young girl. I have countless memories of cinnimon roll hugs, "sure love ya" cheers, hugs, tears, late night letter writing, "busting" our night owl girls, and testimonies blooming. I had the time of my life!! I can honestly say that AFG changed my life and I am SO GRATEFUL I had the opprotunity to be apart of such a wonderful and life changing program!
4. I live in Lake George, New York with my handsome husband and adorable twin boys. I am delighted to finally have the priviledge of being a mother. My boys were born on November 29, 2004. We named them Cameron and Quinten. They are growing fast and change almost everyday it seems. Before I had my boys I occupied my time by teaching swimming and aerobics at our local YMCA. I also started my own swimming instruction and personal training business the summer of 2003, which is now know as Backyard Pool and Fitness. I have a simple website if you want to take a look it is www.backyardpoolandfitness.com .

2. Skipper - Academy Counselor 1994, 1995; Building Counselor 1996
3. Going to Seven Peaks...again and again, staying up way too late, marker fights, secret acts of service,
hugs from girls, eating mint brownies and raspberry bars for breakfast, learning to serve and love my
girls even when they were unlovable, and watching their testimonies grow.
4. I am living in Ankara, Turkey! My husband, Jason, was assigned to the embassy with his new job in the
State Department. We moved here this summer, and it is starting to feel like home. I have two beautiful
daughters, Emma - 4 years, and Charlotte - 2 years. I am enjoying being a stay-at-home mom to them and
watching them grow up. They are tons of fun! We love living here in Turkey, and are enjoying experiencing a
different culture. We have a small church branch of about 15 members, and I am the Primary President for
our tiny Primary (my two girls)!

2. We didn't have names my year, which was 1997 "Treasure the Truth"

3. Favorite or memorable Academy memory - I still treasure thinking about my session in Lawrence, Kansas. The session was an amazing one as we travelled to the church history sites and felt such a strong spirit at Liberty
Jail, Adom -on-di-Ahman, Hans Mill, etc. We all grew together through feeling the spirit as one.

Probably the funniest moments were constantly being mistaken for a girl. When I went to ask the front desk for some more toilet paper sometime, I had forgotten to wear my nametag. They told me I needed to go back and ask
my counselor to come up for some. This was one of many occasions that I didn't look my age.

4. I have been married 8 1/2 years now and am kept busy with three kids. I have two girls and a boy, ages 4 1/2, 3, and 18 months. We have lived in Utah, Arizona, Wisconsin, and back to Utah in pursuit of my husband's job with Sky West Airlines as a pilot. It has been a long road with some of the 9/11 setbacks, but we are very happy to be where we are now. We have just recently settled in our first home in South Jordan, Utah. Since Academy for Girls, I graduated from BYU and taught Elementary School for 2 years. For now when I am not completely busy being a mom, I love to run, waterski, be outdoors, scrapbook, try new crafts, and spend time with friends and family.

My husband is attending the University of Washington as a PhD student in bioengineering. He will begin his fourth year this fall. We enjoy Seattle and this summer we have hiked quite a bit as a family discovering Washington's beautiful lakes and waterfalls.

2. I attended AFG as a girl for 4 years. Then I was a counselor in the summers of
1995, 1996 and 1997.
3. Some of my favorite memories from Academy are the music, registration, testimony meetings, banquets with the same food each week (ugh), love notes from girls and counselors. I absolutely loved it when I would wake up in the morning with a little surprise outside my door! To this day, I will look at my front door when I drive by to see if anyone left me anything there! I guess I still expect to see a thought with a piece of candy or something. Sometimes I still have dreams about Academy, only I don't know who any of my girls are, and I haven't made any preparations! Funny. I love the spirit of Academy and all of the memories, for the person it turned me into.
4. I will be celebrating my 7th wedding anniversary this August! I am enjoying staying at home with our two beautiful girls, Alyssa (3) and Emma Jane(15 months). After Academy we moved to PA for three years for school. Then we took a job in Carson City, Nevada for two years. Then we were able to move closer to family with a new job last year. So we are living in Stansbury Park, Utah. I would love to get together with everyone some time soon!

4. I’ve been married 6 years this fall, and I have two beautiful girls. Ruby is 4 and Betsy is 18 months. I love being a Mom and that pretty much occupies most of my time. I also own my own business called Artichoke Ink in which I provide handlettering services for soon-to-be brides, among others.

3. I love my memories of my girls. I loved laughing with them. Grandma jokes, singing walking all around campus, and playing lawn games. The thing that is most precious to me however is how Academy molded and taught me to be better. The counselors raised me to their level. They inspired me to be better. I am so grateful for the lessons and testimony I found at Academy.
4. I live in Gilbert, Az. I laugh that I ended up in a rather large city, coming from Mendon, UT. Our population was in the hundreds when I was growing up! I am happily married and have been for 7 years. We have two awesome little boys, Tyler and Adam.

3. It's hard to decide what a favorite memory would be! Things I remember are: too many desserts - especially when the supply room with all the leftovers was right across from my hall! Finding notes from girls, counselors, and directors outside my door. Having sleepovers on the floor with Ernie! Standing in the rain at Stadium of Fire waiting for everyone to leave so that we could finally go back to the dorms! Watching girls become friends!
4. I currently live in Ventura, CA with my husband and two beautiful baby girls, Lainey, who is one and Malia who was born in June 2005. We have been married 4 years and spent one year in Utah and then moved back to my hometown. I have spent the last few years teaching high school Spanish and Algebra...I have amazing students! Now that I have two little girls I have taken an early retirement from teaching to be a full time mom and I love it! We love being back by the ocean and enjoy morning walks at the beach with relatives and friends!
