Conference Details

Retreat for Girls gives LDS young women ages 12 to 15 the opportunity to spend one week away from home in a fun and safe environment developing lifelong friendships and increasing their self-esteem and testimony.  The time girls spend at this conference truly is a retreat from the world and the many daily difficulties young people must often face.  In addition to making new friendships, participants will engage in group team building activities, listen to enthusiastic guest speakers, participate in scripture study, and participate in a variety of service and craft activities and devotionals during the week. Each young woman will return home prepared to face their challenges with renewed courage and optimism.

This unique retreat offers a balanced program including:

  • Well-trained, exceptional college-age counselors who understand the leadership role they play in the life of each young woman. Our counselors are selected in a competitive application and interview process. They usually oversee a group of 12 girls.  We know counselors are a critical part of the entire Retreat for Girls experience and we are excited for those who will be joining us this year.
  • Engaging guest speakers that address timely issues and gospel related topics in an entertaining, yet appropriate way. Our speakers truly are the best.  Click here to see those joining us this year.
  • Opportunities for young women of similar background, faith and values to come together and develop lasting friendships and testimonies. Each year, we have girls come from all over the world to join together with other young women who share their same standards.  We have found these relationships often extend far beyond the week at Retreat for Girls.
  • A safe environment for young women to grow spiritually, socially and emotionally. Retreat for Girls provides a well-supervised experience. Each day is full of a range of activities. With their counselor, participants will attend engaging speakers, complete crafts, offer service, have fun, and simply enjoy time learning and growing with their group.
When and where is it held?

Two sessions will once again be held at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. The first session will be held July 10-14, 2017 and the second session will be held the following week, July 17-21, 2016. We are still hoping to offer new sessions at other locations sometime in the future.  However, we have found this to be more difficult than anticipated.

Participants will arrive for registration Monday morning between 10 and noon and will be picked up late Friday afternoon following the closing program which will end at 6:00 p.m. All participants will stay on campus in residence halls.

Who can attend?

Registration is open to girls ages 12 to 15 of any religious affiliation who agree to uphold the standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Girls must be 12 years old by December 31, 2017.
