Meet the staff

Katie Smith is the Executive Director of Retreat for Girls. Though she would never admit it, the success of Retreat for Girls has come through her vision and leadership since the beginning. She is a multi-talented woman with a great love for all youth, especially young women. Katie was involved in student leadership at Utah State University and after graduation taught high school and even did a short stint teaching at Utah State University.  Katie and her family live in Idaho and she is the mother of two beautiful daughters and a handsome son, who continue to grow despite her wishes otherwise.  In addition to keeping busy with her children and Retreat for Girls, Katie teaches piano, serves on a local theater board, and directs and costumes community theater productions. Katie helps at Watkins Party Store where she manages Popcorn Tree Products - a line of LDS-based products. Katie has also been a speaker at BYU Women's Conference and enjoys opportunities to speak with various youth or adult groups. For information about having Katie speak to your group, contact her by email at director@retreatforgirls.

Anita Gerber is the Assistant Director of Retreat for Girls and has helped with Retreat for Girls for the past several years.  Anita is married to Robbie Gerber and they are the proud parents of two sons and two daughters.  They finished building a home in all of their free time, and recently completed their basement where Anita runs The Learning Turtle Preschool.  Anita taught elementary school for several years and loves teaching.  She has a great love for the young women of the church and for all RFG participants. Anita has served in the Relief Society, in Primary, and as the Young Women's President of her ward.
